FICE Europe recognizes the vital importance of truly listening to the voices of children and young people in care. To honor this commitment, FICE Europe launched an exciting project in the fall of 2024: "The Perfect Child and Youth Care Worker: Insights from Children and Youth with Care Experience."

The aim of this project is to create profiles of the "ideal child and youth care worker," as envisioned by young people with direct care experience. These unique perspectives will be compiled into a special flipbook, featuring contributions from children and young people across Europe.

How It Works
The process is as collaborative as it is meaningful. Groups of children and young people currently receiving child and youth care services are invited to participate. Using large sheets of paper, the group will create life-sized outlines and fill them with qualities that describe the perfect child and youth care worker. Sticky notes, paper, and vibrant discussions will help participants articulate and prioritize these qualities, which are then incorporated into the final silhouette design.

The results of this project will be featured on this thematic page and in the flipbook, offering a unique glimpse into the minds and hearts of young people across Europe.
